Making a collage with words and pictures

Materials:  Magazines, newspapers, printed images, glue sticks, scissors, markers, and a sturdy surface like cardstock or journal page.

Choose themes or intentions that harmonize and call to what you wish for yourself and loved ones.

  • A dream or wish you have

  • A visual journal of your current thoughts

  • A tribute to a person, place, or thing important to you

  • A mood or emotion you want to express

 Find Words and Images

  • Look through magazines, old books, and printed articles for words and phrases that inspire you.

  • Search for images that spark inspiration—colors, textures, symbols, or photographs.

  • Handwrite notes, affirmations, dreams, plans.

4. Arrange and Layer

  • Start moving words and images around on a page in the work-in-progress booklet.

  • Experiment with overlapping and layering to create depth and movement.

5. Glue Your Work

  • Glue down your pieces and add any final touches with words and drawings.

6. Reflect and share

  • Take a moment to look at your collage and notice what stands out.

  • Share it with friends or keep it private as personal reflections.
